  ?  sinew,  tendon,  nerve.]  (Anat.) 
  Any  one  of  the  thicker  and  denser  of  the  deep  fasci[ae]  which 
  cover,  invest,  and  the  terminations  and  attachments  of  many 
  muscles.  They  often  differ  from  tendons  only  in  being  flat
