  Bloodstone  \Blood"stone`\,  n.  (Min.) 
  a  A  green  siliceous  stone  sprinkled  with  red  jasper,  as  if 
  with  blood;  hence  the  name  --  called  also  {heliotrope}. 
  b  Hematite,  an  ore  of  iron  yielding  a  blood  red  powder  or 
  ``streak.''
