Dolorous \Dol"or*ous\, a. [L. dolorosus, from dolor: cf F.
douloureux See {Dolor}.]
1. Full of grief; sad; sorrowful; doleful; dismal; as a
dolorous object; dolorous discourses.

2. Occasioning pain or grief; painful.
