  dens,  dentis,  tooth.]  (Zo["o]l.) 
  An  order  of  mammals  including  the  armadillos,  sloths,  and 
  anteaters;  --  called  also  {Bruta}.  The  incisor  teeth  are 
  rarely  developed,  and  in  some  groups  all  the  teeth  are 
  lacking.
