  heiser,  Icel.  h[=a]ss,  Dan.  h[ae]s,  Sw  hes.  Cf  Prov.  E. 
  heazy.] 
  1.  Having  a  harsh,  rough,  grating  voice  or  sound,  as  when 
  affected  with  a  cold;  making  a  rough,  harsh  cry  or  sound;
