  The  melted  rock  ejected  by  a  volcano  from  its  top  or  fissured 
  sides.  It  flows  out  in  streams  sometimes  miles  in  length.  It

  beds  covering  many  square  miles,  as  in  the  Northwestern 
  United  States.
