Limestone \Lime"stone`\ (l[imac]m"st[=o]n`), n.
A rock consisting chiefly of calcium carbonate or carbonate
of lime. It sometimes contains also magnesium carbonate, and
is then called magnesian or {dolomitic limestone}.
Crystalline limestone is called {marble}.
