  1.  The  act  or  process  of  orientating;  determination  of  the 
  points  of  the  compass,  or  the  east  point,  in  taking

  2.  The  tendency  of  a  revolving  body,  when  suspended  in  a 
  certain  way  to  bring  the  axis  of  rotation  into
