  The  art  or  process  of  covering  metals,  wood,  paper,  glass, 
  etc.,  with  a  thin  film  of  metallic  silver,  or  a  substance 
  resembling  silver;  also  the  firm  do  laid  on  as  the 
  silvering  of  a  glass  speculum.
