Splice \Splice\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Spliced}; p. pr & vb n.
{Splicing}.] [D. splitsen splitten; akin to G. splissen Sw
splissa Dan. splisse and E. split; -- from the dividing or
splitting the ends into separate strands. See {Split}, v. t.]
