a A European bulbous liliaceous plant ({Urginea,
formerly Scilla, maritima}), of acrid, expectorant,
diuretic, and emetic properties used in medicine.
Called also {sea onion}.
b Any bulbous plant of the genus {Scilla}; as the
bluebell squill ({S. mutans}).
