  heilbutt  So  named  as  being  eaten  on  holidays.  See  {Holy},

  A  large  northern,  marine  flatfish  ({Hippoglossus  vulgaris}), 
  of  the  family  {Pleuronectid[ae]}.  It  often  grows  very  large
