  F.  leucite.] 
  1.  (Min.)  A  mineral  having  a  glassy  fracture,  occurring  in 
  translucent  trapezohedral  crystals.  It  is  a  silicate  of 
  alumina  and  potash.  It  is  found  in  the  volcanic  rocks  of 
  Italy,  especially  at  Vesuvius. 
 
  2.  (Bot.)  A  leucoplast.
