  +  latus  wide,  not  the  same  word  as  latus,  used  as  p.  p.  of 
  ferre  to  bear  (see  {Latitude});  or  fr  dilatus  used  as  p.  p. 
  of  differre  to  separate  (see  {Delay},  {Tolerate},  {Differ}, 
  and  cf  {Dilatory}):  cf  F.  dilater.]
