A New Zealand parrot of the genus {Nestor}, especially the {brown parrot} ({Nestor meridionalis}). Note: The {mountain kaka}, or {kea} ({N. notabilis}), is remarkable for having recently acquired carnivorous habits. It attacks and kills lambs and pigs, sometimes doing great damage. {Night kaka}.
