  Robin  \Rob"in\,  n.  [Properly  a  pet  name  for  Robert,  originally

  akin  to  AS  hr??  glory,  fame,  Goth.  hr?peigs  victorius)  +

  a  A  small  European  singing  bird  ({Erythacus  rubecula}), 
  having  a  reddish  breast;  --  called  also  {robin
