  skylle  or  by  OF  escuelier  a  place  for  keeping  dishes,  fr 
  escuele  a  dish,  F.  ['e]cuelle,  fr  L.  scutella  a  salver, 
  waiter  (cf.  {Scuttle}  a  basket);  or  perhaps  the  English  word 
  is  immediately  from  the  OF  escuelier  cf  OE  squyllare  a
