(Zo["o]l.) Formed like a plate or salver; composed of platelike surfaces; as the scutellated bone of a sturgeon. --Woodward. 2. [See {Scutellum}.] (Zo["o]l.) Having the tarsi covered with broad transverse scales, or scutella; -- said of certain birds.
